Adam Lippes for Target Lookbook vs. Adam Lippes Runway

The Adam Lippes for Target collection is about a month away, and in anticipation of the September 27 release, I've combed through past seasons of Adam Lippes runway photos to compare some of the looks. I always enjoy searching for runway inspiration in these capsule collections and getting ideas for how to style my favorite pieces.

Let's see just how similar some of the Target looks are to recent runway outfits (and read my Adam Lippes for Target review with fitting room photos and sizing information).

Both of the looks above feature sleeveless turtleneck sweaters with side slits in an oatmeal palette. Loose layers and easy tailoring finish off both looks.

Blue buffalo plaid prints are paired with slouchy black trousers in the two looks above.

The grid print shirtdress in the Target lookbook appears to be directly inspired by this Fall 2014 Adam Lippes runway version. I love the versatility. It can be styled as a dress, as a tunic over pants, layered under a sweater or jacket, or worn open as a layering piece.

Dramatic grey and black plaid vests are styled over belted knee-length dresses in both of the looks above.

Long coats in a masculine grey and black plaid print are worn with white blouses and slim trousers.

Collarless mohair coats in a pale grey color palette lend a chic vibe to the two looks above.
