I stumbled upon a vintage lace cardigan and maxi skirt set for $7 while thrifting earlier this month. Unfortunately, there is a mysterious sticky black substance on the upper portion of the skirt that no amount of washing seems to remedy. Fortunately, the cardigan is in perfect condition. As much as I shop for vintage clothing, I tend to find flaws that I cannot always fix, so it's time for me to seek out the elusive local dry cleaner and tailor who won't charge exorbitant rates for their services.
I finally got my feet into the Jeffrey Campbell Tardy boots in black that have been on my wish list since their debut on multiple websites. They run a bit narrow, have a much heavier heel than I was expecting, and aren't nearly as comfortable as my Litas, but I'm drawn to the chunky '90s silhouette, white stitching, and endless opportunities for creating grunge-inspired outfits with them. I anticipate that they'll make multiple appearances on this blog.
What you don't see in these photos is the adorable pug with a purple mohawk that kept approaching me while I stood on the grass. As much as I wanted to pet its stripe of purple fur, I resisted, and it went on to introduce itself to a nearby bulldog with a penchant for kicking the grass. All this while I could hear the rock bands performing from a nearby block party and smell the BBQ burgers from a house in the neighborhood. Not a bad way to spend the evening.
