Fortunately, I arrived early and was able to enjoy the warm weather by the poolside runway while staking out a place for photos. I'm wearing a Jennifer Lopez velvet top, Simply Vera Vera Wang jeans, and Wild Pair heels (similar).
Above, blogger Carrie (center) and her friend Stephanie (at left) stopped by the nail bar for bright manicures, and below, the calm before the storm.
The Gypsy Junkies spring collection fused psychedelic prints in electric colors with breezy maxis and flirty blouses. Many of the models sported bohemian braids, feather headbands, and lipstick in unexpected shades of magenta and blue. Sheer fabrics that beg to be layered were styled with hippie-chic vests, blazers, and carefree kimonos. Although it's hard to choose one favorite, my top pick from the collection is the pink maxi skirt below; it's perfect for poolside afternoons, days at the beach, and spring music festivals. Given my love for fringe and bright prints, I can easily imagine wearing many of these pieces. Designer Marcus Paglialonga and his creative team knows what girls really want to wear - comfortable and colorful clothing that blends well with the casual California lifestyle that so many of the brand's fans adore.
