This outfit has been lurking in draft mode for too long; it is actually from the end of August. If the summer of 2012 were to have a sartorial theme, for me it would clearly be printed denim. No surprises here. I find it both effortless and casual, all the while allowing me to make a style statement.
The sweater, which looks more like a sweatshirt, is a find from the Men's department at J. Crew. Quick shopping disclosure: I occasionally shop in the Men's or Children's departments for basics, especially at Target and at thrift stores. It's a smart way to find items such as slouchy or high-waisted denim, oversized tees, or cozy sweaters. So tell me, do you do the same?

Yes, to big grey sweaters and the mens section. Weirdly feel closer to wearing men's than women's daily- great minds think alike.
And yes! I went to Powell- the teeny version of it at least-(Ah-Mazing!), but still, I almost wanted to pull out my sleeping bag and camp out - and solestruck (I'm forever in love with that part of the city)

Those jeans are so fun! I'm loving the bright colors! And yes, the men's department is a great place to get basics. I have a few tanks from the men's dept and an awesome Mickey Mouse sweatshirt from the boy's. :) <3

Fantastic patterned pants...they really are so suited for the beach with those colours and the casual pattern. Love the loose sweater thing...one of my favourite go-to closet staples in these cooler months!

i don't usually think to look in the men's/children's section--how clever! although, i did find a silver bow sweater in target's kid's section a couple of years ago. i got it lol.
