Forever 21 graphic striped top (luxury version), Papaya bird print skirt (similar), Mixx Shuz pumps (dream version), and New Look floral handbag
Although celebrities are not a main source of style inspiration for me, this look is an exception. While flipping through People StyleWatch, I spotted a photo of Solange Knowles wearing a colorful striped Kenzo top and bird print skirt, and I was instantly inspired. As an admirer of mixed prints, I tried my own interpretation of the look with some oldies but goodies in my closet.
The anti-minimalist in me couldn't resist throwing in an extra print in the form of an oversized floral bag that I picked up at one of my favorite high street stores during a trip to London last spring. I think that a smiley face top, bird print, and floral handbag are just the whimsical pieces I need to remind me that fashion is a fun form of self-expression, and should be never be taken too seriously.
