Right now I'm equally as obsessed with color blocking as I was last spring. Bright colors, bring them on! In fact, I went on a mini Rit dyeing spree last spring in an effort to create myriad shorts and jeans in various shades of lemon, tangerine, purple, and green that I couldn't find in stores. Although my initial results were not up to my expectations, I gained a lot of experience mixing custom colors and turning a few pairs of white thrifted jeans into very colorful cutoffs. Lesson learned: the lower the polyester and the higher the cotton content, the better, and beware of polyester thread, which won't absorb the dye.
With my affinity for bold colors, when I stumbled upon a multitude of brightly hued jeans and blazers at H&M last weekend, I wasted no time in stocking up for endless future color blocking possibilities. You might just see me wearing some orange jeans, which means I'm venturing far outside of my color comfort zone.
