When it comes to color, blue has always been my absolute favorite. I'm not sure if it's because my eyes are blue, and I find blue clothing more flattering, or if it's due to the innate calming effects of the hue.  It's the one color that I always gravitate towards, and I find that because it transcends the four seasons, I wear it all year long. So it's no surprise that I fell in love with this unique dress by emerging designer and FIDM graduate Lauren Nicole the moment I laid eyes on it. The interesting neckline, whimsical star detail at the waist, hourglass-inducing fit and flare silhouette, and crisp cobalt color all drew me in. (Not visible from the back is the sporty racerback neckline.) For now, I'm wearing the dress with layers to ward off the chilly breeze, but come spring and summer, it will pair well in a more casual and minimalist way with strappy sandals, bare legs, and a sun hat.
