These photos were taken before the mini heat wave in southern California began. While soaking up the last few rays of sun at the beach earlier this week, I was grateful for my cable knit cardigan, which became useful for warding off the chilly sea breeze. Lately, I've been stocking up on lots of thrifted cardigans, cable knit sweaters, and vintage embellished angora knits. At the moment, I have a particular fondness for any shade of ivory because of its versatility and for angora because of its fuzzy texture. I find that this time of year, sweaters come in handy for transitioning from warm days to cool nights, when a lightweight but cozy knit is just what's required to stay comfortably warm and cozy.
As a tribute to summer, here is a brief video that I created in August on a day spent at the beach. It was actually colder on that summer day than it has been for the past few days, and I'm looking forward to feeling that cool breeze again soon.
