While working on this post, I realized that I rarely wear ensembles consisting of all (or mostly) black, especially during the summer. In all honesty, you'd never know it was summer where I live due to the overcast mornings and chilly evening breezes.  It makes for perfect layering weather, it rarely gets too hot, and it allows me to get away with wearing boots all year long. While I'm on the topic of boots, my rose suede Louie boots by Sam Edelman have been getting so much wear that I decided to give them a rest and break in my black pair.

I'm also trying out a new style of sunglasses since I wanted an inexpensive pair to replace the Ray-Bans and H&M aviators that I find myself wearing quite often.  I think these round ones from H&M fit the bill; they're comfortable and lightweight for hours on end, have a retro shape, and aren't so big that they get in the way when I wear hats.

Wearing: H&M sunglasses, Material Girl black tank dress underneath GoJane crochet kimono dress, Bakers leopard print belt, tapestry handbag from NYC street vendor, Sam Edelman Louie boots (also available here in 3 colors), and assorted jewelry.
